This tea is made from wild-growing old Tanyang Cai Cha trees, the heirloom varietal of Panyong Congou. These trees are few in number and require long treks into the forest to pick. For these reasons not many producers in Fu'an make this tea anymore. It’s a shame because it's the purest expression of the Tanyang Cai Cha varietal and the forest environment it grows in. It has a smooth, mouth-watering texture, clean woody taste, and refreshing character. Unlike last year's Old Bush Tanyang Gongfu, this one has been charcoal roasted. It will taste even better in the months and years to come.
