Panyong Congou
In April 2026 we filmed a documentary (coming soon) about Panyong Congou, a historic red tea from Fu'an, Fujian Province. We sourced some 2025 teas which are available now. 2026 teas will be available in June. We also filmed a video about how this tea is made.
Zhangping Shui Xian
In May 2025 we filmed a documentary about Zhangping Shui Xian, the only traditionally compressed oolong tea in China. This documentary introduces this tea, containing interviews with farmers and experts. We also made a video observing the production process.

About Us
We are a small online tea shop based in Guangdong, China. Our Chinese name is“昔归” (xīguī): the past returns. We focus on two things: curation and context.
Curation
Everything in our shop is chosen with care. We spend a lot of time in the origins of the teas we sell, resulting in blogs about these experiences, and sometimes interviews and documentaries for our YouTube channel. We keep the size of our shop small enough so we can dedicate time and effort to this curation process.
Context
Tea culture in China is diverse and highly contextual. What people drink, and how they drink it, varies from place to place. Through documentaries and filmed conversations with producers, we share some of this diversity and provide greater context for the teas we drink and the teaware we use. Our observational approach to filmmaking seeks to let the teas and the people behind them speak for themselves.
