Each tea cake is 8-10 grams.

This tea won First Prize in Zhangping's 2025 local tea competition in the unroasted tea category, out of 300 samples submitted to the competition. Tea competitions are imperfect barometers for the quality of a tea. The results are affected by what samples are submitted in a given year and inherent biases that may be present in the judging criteria. In side-by-side tastings we actually prefer our Traditional Zhangping Shui Xian, which also placed high in this year's competition. Nevertheless, this is still an excellent reference tea for the traditional unroasted type of Zhangping Shui Xian, and for that reason we offer these samples to try.

We recommend brewing as the locals do in Zhangping: steeping a whole cake in a 100ml-120ml gaiwan. If you prefer a lighter tea, you can break a cake in half.
