A very high end version of a traditional Tanyang Gongfu, made from the heirloom Tanyang Cai Cha varietal. This tea placed first in a well regarded Gongfu Black Tea Competition last year, competing not only against other Panyong Congous, but black teas from all over Fujian Province. 

Entirely handmade by Mr Chen, this tea is the end result of the meticulous hand-sifting technique of traditional Panyong Congou. These techniques are part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Panyong Congou. It has been sifted by hand and then blended into the desired proportion of buds and leaves. Complex Tanyang Cai Cha aroma of fruit, wood, red wine, and spice. Later steeps in particular combine spicy-ness and sweetness, almost like mulled wine.
