Zi Mu Dan is a relatively new cultivar bred by the Fujian Institute of Agricultural Science. It is a highly aromatic variety especially developed for oolong and red tea making in Fujian and Guangdong. Its compound fruit and floral aroma makes it suitable for New Technique Panyong Congou, which uses the shaking step from oolong processing.
