Panyong Congou

In May 2025 we filmed a documentary about Zhangping Shui Xian, the only traditionally compressed oolong tea in China. This documentary introduces this tea, containing interviews with farmers and experts. We also made a video observing the production process.

About Pastleaf

We are tea sourcers and filmmakers based in Guangdong, China. Our Chinese name is“昔归” (xīguī): the past returns. This is our small online shop of selected teas and teaware. We prioritise higher quality teas from producers who take pride in their craft, with an emphasis on heirloom varietals, older bushes or trees, clean environments and handmade steps.

Besides curating teas and teaware, we also like to film interviews and documentaries about Chinese tea. You can check out our work at our YouTube channel or the Archives in the top menu. Our observational approach to filmmaking seeks to let the teas and the people behind them speak for themselves.
